Auctions The Ressence Type 1 Slim ‘Ayrton & Finlay’ To Cross The Block On Sunday
From April 28 to May 12, 466 members entered their own plans in #WatchesAgainstCovid19 plan challenge. The brief was straightforward: Contestants download the high-goal drawings of the Ressence Type 1 Slim and put the hued pencil to paper to communicate their inventiveness. President Benoît Mintiens made the competition considering a simple component. With the always expanding presence of computerized innovation tackling difficulties set forth by COVID-19, Mintiens thought the time had come “to communicate our inventiveness by trading your consoles and video meetings for a bunch of hued pencils and a sheet of (genuine) paper.”
The plans, that were without a doubt portrayed out on paper, were limited to four finalists, and afterward with the assistance of Ressence Instagram fans, CEO Mintiens picked the triumphant design.
It came from Englishman Raymond Ramsden, and the watch is named after his kids Ayrton and Finlay. It’s been appropriately named the Type 1 Slim “Ayrton & Finlay.”
Ressence has now taken it from paper to the real world and made this coincidental watch, and it will cross the square this Sunday as a component of Sotheby’s “Significant Watches” closeout. It conveys a gauge of HK $150,000-$300,000 (U.S. $20,00-$40,000), and the returns will go to KU Leuven University’s COVID-19 Research Program. To emphasize the worthy mission, there’s a message of expectation from Ramsden engraved in the caseback: “the offspring of the world are the future.”
The Ressence Type 1 Slim #WatchAgainstCovid19 Design Competition champ will be sold at the Sotheby’s Hong Kong Important Watches sale on July 11. To give to the KU Leuven University’s Covid-19 Research Program, click here .
