It’s hard to accept, however our time at SIHH 2019 has authoritatively come to a nearby. The show consistently appears to fly by, yet toward the finish of day three we are left with huge loads of extraordinary watches to discuss and the principal genuine look at what 2019 might hold for all things horological. Prior to leaving the Palexpo halls for the last time this year, I plunked down with Jack, James, Joe, and Jon to wrap up this year’s show and discussion about what we saw, what we realized, and what we’ll recall most.

To kick things off, Joe gives us some insight into the business on the loose. The SIHH is the primary genuine temperature-taking snapshot of the year and a chance to think back on how the earlier year finished. While the vast majority of us are in item centered arrangements, shooting photos and finding out about watches we’ve never seen, Joe is wandering the halls, conversing with diamond setters, industry people, authorities, and that’s just the beginning, getting the genuine story of what’s rolling on, without all the lustrous advertising. It ends up, there’s much more at pay right now than you might think – you’ll have to tune in to perceive what I mean.

There is still a lot to gain from the items themselves as well. Each of us picked a pattern that we spotted and we talked about how these might work out over the year(s) ahead. Some are basic, some less so.

While we might leaving Geneva tomorrow (or before long, contingent upon who you are), we’re a long way from finished with our SIHH inclusion. An incredible inverse, really. Make certain to check out our committed SIHH 2019 page on HODINKEE to keep tracking with as we welcome you more hands-on glances at new watches, greater pattern pieces, fun watch spottings and more.

Also, let us understand what you think of these SIHH digital recording dispatches down in the comments. It will be the ideal opportunity for Baselworld before you know it and we need to ensure we’re giving you the absolute best sound experience we can. Thanks for tuning in and we’ll be back Monday with your standard scene of HODINKEE Radio.
