Introducing The Zenith Defy 21 Urban Jungle
Last year, Zenith challenged the chances by delivering three new cycles of its Defy range. Indeed, new year, new Defy.
Where 2020 brought champions like the Zenith Defy 21 Ultraviolet , 2021 brings things somewhat more down to earth(tone) via the new Zenith Defy 21 Urban Jungle. This watch includes a green artistic case, green tie, and an open-work dial displaying the incredibly, amazing El Primero 9004 programmed movement.
While nothing about the watch is new regarding the case plan, development, or even the lash, this piece addresses a first for the brand: It’s the first run through Zenith has housed the 9004 development within a green fired case.
To depict it in Gordon Gecko speech, green is acceptable. Zenith is calling this a khaki green, and the tone is highlighted looking into the issue, caseback, and cordura-impact elastic tie. The lash is really dim, with a green elastic supplement that adds some contrast.
The skeletonized dial surface highlights matte dark and matte silver counters, adding to the Urban Jungle’s toolish matte tasteful. What’s more, it’s all the better to see the Zenith El Primero 9004 development that has a major impact in what makes this watch so intriguing. It’s the most noteworthy recurrence chronograph underway today, with a planning capacity of 1/100th of a second, which is no little accomplishment. The development has two escapements: One for the watch, and one for the chronograph (which beats multiple times quicker than the development itself).
Similar to the bright presentation caseback on the Defy 21 Ultraviolet, this watch includes a khaki green mainplate and swaying weight with a glossy silk finish.
While this delivery is actually a tasteful plan update instead of a mechanical one, it is nonetheless cool to see the brand proceeding to create models that house this beast of a development. What’s more, green ceramic is serious stuff, and this watch is unquestionably one we’ll need to look at in the metal.
