Sunday Rewind Three Experts Weigh In On The Patek Philippe 5524G Calatrava Pilots Travel Time

Way back at Baselworld 2015, Patek Philippe launched a movement time-equipped Calatrava that took much of the Patek devotee base off guard. Offered (at that point) solely in white gold and estimating 42mm wide, the reference 5524G was a turn on some vintage pilot’s watches made by Patek during the 1930s with glowing Arabic numerals and a pilot-enlivened handset over a profound matte blue dial wearing Patek’s astute travel time complication.

 

With stunt locking crowns and a brown cowhide lash, prompt criticism was polarizing along these lines, for this “Letter To The Editor”- style post from April of 2015, we addressed a threesome of bonafide Patek specialists (counting our own Ben Clymer) to get their contemplations on this sudden and vintage-propelled plan.
