Watch Spotting A Gold Rolex GMT-Master And Other Highlights From Fashion Month
From planners to visitors and superstar appearances, Fashion Month was brimming with extraordinary watches. We go on a round outing around New York City, London, Milan, and Paris to take a gander at probably the best watches on display.
During Paris Fashion Week, quite possibly the most-discussed shows is consistently Balmain, and the most recent couple of years the brand has been considerably more sweltering than expected. This is generally down to the initiative of imaginative chief Olivier Rousteing, who assumed control over the house’s top plan work back in 2011 when he was only 25 years of age. Not terrible, isn’t that so? Also, as Rousteing took his bow and welcomed the group after Balmain’s latest show on February 28, he had an extraordinary, exemplary watch on his wrist: a yellow gold Rolex GMT-Master II.
Balmain may be known for its classification breaking combination of couture and streetwear, yet it would seem that the man in charge has more customary taste with regards to watches. The gold GMT is something entertaining – it’s a watch that is utilitarian at its center, however spruced up somewhat in a valuable metal case. Some way or another everything works however and gold GMTs have been delivered going right back to the watch’s most punctual days during the 1950s. The watch on Rousteing’s wrist is the reference 116718, which is not, at this point underway. It has a similar 40mm maxi-style case as other contemporary GMT-Master II models, however with a yellow gold case and arm band and a dark Cerachrome bezel. As of now, Rolex doesn’t make a yellow gold GMT-Master II, however you can get the watch in white gold, Everose gold, two-tone Everose gold and tempered steel, and full hardened steel setup. This makes the yellow gold model extra fascinating nowadays, and it’s a cool watch that we don’t see almost enough in the wild.
